Our Wedding

Edgar and Zienna met in college at San Francisco State on the volleyball court. Zienna was wearing a bright orange shirt that immediately caught Edgar’s eye. He quickly noticed how good she was as a setter, and being the competitive person he is, he jumped on the other side of the net to try to keep up. When she kept winning, he jokingly grabbed her hand mid-play in an attempt to sabotage her. It didn’t work, but it definitely got her attention. Soon after, Zienna made the SFSU club volleyball team, and Edgar was excited for more chances to talk to her. One of his favorite early memories was a team-hosted 80s trivia night, where Zienna showed up dressed as The Rock with a turtleneck and fanny pack. That sealed the deal. He was hooked. Their first date was on October 24, 2018. They went to Fort Funston and sat on the cliffs for hours, talking and watching the sunset. Edgar knew right then that Zienna was the one. Five years later, on the exact same date and in the exact same place, he proposed. Over the years, travel became a tradition for the two of them, especially around Zienna’s birthday. They have taken trips to Hawaii, Carmel, Ireland, and driven up the coast on Highway 1. They both love a good road trip, especially with the top down in Edgar’s old convertible. A year into their relationship, they added a third member to their little family: Loki, the world’s most handsome and mischievous dog, also known as Loki the Destroyer. Their relationship is full of fun, laughter, and the kind of moments that happen when two people just get each other. Zienna’s quick wit keeps Edgar laughing every day, and even during the challenges of long distance and social distancing during COVID, they found a way to stay strong together.

Zienna’s lifelong best friend, Abbie, will be standing by her side as Maid of Honor. Abbie has been there through every season of life with Zienna, growing up together and sharing nearly every milestone and memory along the way. Truly, there’s no one better to stand beside the bride on this special day!

Robby and Edgar go way back. Though technically family friends, Robby and his twin brother Ryan have always felt more like cousins. From family vacations to Lake Tahoe to long conversations about life, Robby has been a steady presence in Edgar’s world. They also share a love of golf and have played more rounds together than either of them can count. Robby is loyal, quick with a joke, and always ready to show up. He was the obvious choice to stand beside Edgar as Best Man.

Claire and Zienna were brought together by fate not just once, but twice! They first met in preschool and were inseparable until a change of schools in first grade. Fast forward to freshman year of high school, they reconnected, and their friendship has flourished ever since. Claire has become one of Zienna’s closest and longest friendships—a testament to the bond they share.

Ryan has been part of Edgar’s life since childhood. Growing up together, they made a lifetime of memories, from Tahoe trips to weekend golf rounds. Ryan’s calm presence, thoughtful nature, and shared sense of humor have always made him feel more like a brother than a friend. It only felt right to have him standing up there with Edgar.

Vane, Zienna’s soon-to-be sister-in-law, has welcomed her into the family with open arms from the very beginning. Always up for a good time, Vane brings endless fun and laughter wherever she goes—whether she’s shopping with Zienna, dancing the night away, or cracking up at a “brain rot” saying they both love. It’s easy to see why Zienna can’t wait to call her sister and have her by her side on this special day!

Diego and Edgar are cousins who spent their childhood just a few blocks apart. They spent countless hours playing basketball and hanging out, whether at family gatherings or just around the neighborhood. Diego has always been someone Edgar could relax and connect with. Over the years their bond has only grown, and Edgar is grateful to have him as part of this day.

Though they met later in life, Tiara has become one of Zienna’s dearest friends. Their paths crossed at BMW, but it was clear from the start that their connection was meant to be more than just co-workers. From hour-long FaceTime calls to trying out trendy new restaurants (always splitting multiple dishes to maximize the experience!) and exploring new places, they’ve created countless memories together. Tiara is an exceptional friend and will be joining Zienna on her big day!

Edgar met Brenden through Robby and Ryan, and they quickly became close friends. Brenden liked Edgar so much he even followed him to work, or at least that is how Edgar tells it. They have been friends for about ten years, always cracking jokes and keeping things light. Brenden is easy to be around, always brings good energy, and has been a solid friend through it all. Edgar is proud to have him as part of the crew on this special day.

Alyssa may be Zienna’s younger cousin, but the age gap has never mattered to them. She’s always been like a little sister, and their bond is truly unbreakable. From countless trips to TJ MAXX, Dutch Bros coffee runs, and endless jokes about each other (and the rest of the family!), they always keep each other laughing. And if you’ve ever met them, you know the real question is: will they be wrestling or putting each other in a headlock? We promise—this day will be filled with love, laughter, and only one headlock at most!

Adrian has been in Edgar’s life since before he was born. Edgar still remembers feeling him move around in their aunt’s belly. Watching him grow up has been a mix of hilarious and heartwarming, especially the phase when Adrian would chase people around just because he was mad. He is full of energy, has a big heart, and has always been family in every sense of the word. Edgar is proud to have him standing with him.

She and the bride share a deep bond, often spending hours catching up on FaceTime or sharing laughs and dances at family gatherings. Her loyalty and joyful spirit make her an essential part of the celebration, and the bride is honored to have her by her side on this special day.

Claire, affectionately known as “Bestie,” is Zienna’s youngest cousin and her mini best friend. Always keeping Zienna on her toes and bringing out her best side, Claire is a bundle of energy and joy. Whether they’re learning TikTok dances, playing, or making slime, these two are inseparable. Ever since she was a baby, Zienna and Edgar have loved spending time with Claire—so much so that she calls Zienna “Bestie” and Edgar “Boyfriend.” She’s their favorite little human, and they’re so excited to have her as a special part of their day!
